Mando Marie is an American-born painter known for her blend of nostalgia-infused illustration, twin imagery, and storytelling that shifts between comforting and subtly spooky.

Though grounded in stencil tradition, her work is distinctly painterly, enriched with layered brushwork, shading, intentional overspray, and hand-sanded surfaces that give each piece a timeless presence. You recognize a Mando painting instantly.

Working between Amsterdam and Portugal, she creates scenes that drift between childhood memory and quiet mystery, populated by girls, young women, animals, and ghostlike figures. Her imagery spans intimate works to large-scale murals, each carrying a sense of wonder tempered by a darker undercurrent.

With more than two decades of international exhibitions across Europe, North America, and Asia, Mando has established herself as a singular voice in contemporary painting, known for work that feels nostalgic, soft, and quietly haunting.
